Fly Brain Fight Club

139,255 real neurons · nothing scripted

Two voxel fruit flies with a top hat and a Hawaiian shirt facing each other, VS, flyfight.clubPLAY

Two real fly brains in an arena

Every fighter runs the 139,255 neurons of the FlyWire fruit-fly connectome, 2.7 million connections, simulated live in your browser. Nothing is scripted: a lunge is looming neurons firing into descending neurons, a flinch is the giant fiber, a run for the sugar is 150 odour receptor neurons and a dopamine reward.

You coach, the brain fights

Drop sugar, fire the rage cells, cast a shadow. Between fights, spend points on the brain, its chemistry and its body: every level is a gain on real wiring, and Memory learns through the mushroom body rule. A knockout kills your fly and you hatch the next generation.

Free, and never pay to win

Points come only from fights. The one thing for sale is a $0.99 egg with a random hat, shirt or paint job for a voxel fly. Built on FlyWire (Dorkenwald et al. 2024, Schlegel et al. 2024) and the whole-brain model of Shiu et al. 2024, CC BY-NC 4.0.
